POTM: Kaustubh Pimputkar
Kaustubh walked in with his team two-down in the first two overs chasing a stiff target and a fine new ball attack on a lively wicket. With his team’s continued struggles with the bat, Kaustubh had to drop anchor to steady the ship.
Kaustubh put on a near fifty run stand for the third wicket before another series of wickets at regular intervals left him with the lower-order. Mixing caution with calculated risks Kaustubh built a platform for his team to launch an attach in the last 10 overs to give then an outside chance of winning.
With some lusty boundaries and hard running, he maneuvered the lower-order to give him the support needed to chase down a target that seemed to be going out of reach all the while.
In the end his fine 54 that was steely and temperamentally sound went in vain as the support he received didn’t prove to be enough to chase down the score.
